Coronado is beautiful in a way that sometimes doesn’t feel real. It has it all: a quaint downtown, pristine white-sand beaches, postcard views of downtown San Diego, historic landmarks like the Hotel Del, a strong military presence, wealth beyond reason, access to nearly everything on foot, and nearly perfect weather all year.
Despite its charm, when I moved back here from France, photography became harder.
Everything felt the same… except me. And while that familiarity should have been comforting, it left me feeling a little lost.
So, I decided to start documenting life on Coronado in 2025. Not just my life, but the people, the places, and the everyday moments that make this place what it is.
If you’ve tried this kind of photography, you know how it goes. The great shots are hard to come by, but the more you show up, the more likely they are to appear.
This project is my way of showing up, finding beauty in the familiar, challenging myself to take pictures of strangers in such a small town, and reconnecting with the place I call home (for now).
