Providence is the capital of the state of Rhode Island, and where my graduate school, Brown University, happens to be! If you’re struggling to picture where Rhode Island is on the map, it’s located on the Northeast coast of the United States, right below Massachusetts, and east of Connecticut.
I’m not sure how to explain it, but Providence feels like both a big city and a small town at the SAME time. It’s great!
Here, you can expect to find quality restaurants, little to no chain restaurants (except Dunkin’ Donuts, there are a lot of those), beautiful Fall foliage, and stunning old buildings.
